Sellers listing is confusing and conflicting I think. If it's a 2.0, that means the FS type DOHC engine used in 1999+ Protege and Protege 5. Not compatible for a swap since we use B series motors. Would need to be a 1.8L BP to fit the proto, escort and mx-3.

No crap.

It is clearly a BPT though.

The seller is saying that it will fit in the older 2.0L MX-6 (although I dont think it will..), and escort -- not that the motor is a 2.0L.

May want to be careful though.. not very good feedback on the guy.

Hmm my turbo was positioned differently when I got my BPT. The turbo is aiming up with that black pipe and mine goes down to the radiator. What do you think the difference is? He says it has 225hp so maybe he thinks its from a GTR? Does the GTR have a slightly different turbo set up like I just mentioned?

This engine has to be a freak of nature. If it is indeed a 2.0 then it has to be from one of the bigger mazdas. Just look up the 86 mazda capella and you will see that the turbo on those is in the exact same orentiation as the one pictured but it is sohc it points straight up and has no intercooler stock! Id say that it is a capella (626) engine from some weird model year.

I wouldent get it regardless.. It looks shady.. You might get it to your house and it only weighs 20 pounds because it is made of paper mache or something. :)

ask the seller for more details - the BP stamp on the drivers side of the head, the type of turbo, the exact type of car and year it came out of

I'm gonna go ahead and say it's a B6T. Probably USDM because i dont think this guys knows what he's talking about: The valve cover looks familiar (B6T), thats the correct position for a VJ-14 and look at the manifold: O2 sensor!! The BPT's are in the down pipe...
I know this is old but i don't want anyone to get scammed.

Stage 3ish 03 WRX - sold

Good eye Shady. It's definitely not a 1.8 BPT. The O2 would come out on the down pipe side. Another noticable difference is the oil pan. The 1.8 GTX's oil pan are aluminum, not steel. The water line running behind the manifold is also different from the 1.8.
