FAQ: Do I need a valid email address to access the Forums?

Post by MX-3.com »

Yes, a valid e-mail address is required to register on the MX-3.com Forums.

There are many reasons for this, some of them are:
  • So your random encrypted password can be automatically e-mailed to you when you first register. (This will help us maintain a valid user base and to minimize false registrations.)

To help increase security, and to prevent anyone else from changing your password without your permission.

So that you can use the Private Message features of the MX-3.com Forums. (Without a valid e-mail address, the Private Message features will not work.)

So that other Forum members can send you Private Messages.

So that MX-3.com Administrators can contact you with important notices.
Without a valid e-mail address, any private message notifications that are sent to you are seen as undeliverable, and are sent to myself, which will prompt me to disable the account.

E-mail addresses that appear invalid risk the chance of their User profile on the MX-3.com Forums being disabled and/or removed from the system. MX-3.com will not be held liable if accounts are deleted due to invalid e-mail addresses.

E-mail address checks will be done on a regular basis.
