MX Problems/Wonders

Post by N_Mazda_L »

I am no rookie to the standard tranny nor the mx-3 and its wide capibilities. but i have only experianced the v-6. Against my will though i recenctly wrote it off. I have found a 94 4 cyl. with 94K but am unsure if its a sohc or a dohc. Does this make much of a difference, and is there any major problems with the motor for that size and yr.? I've searched these forums before but am easly frustrated with endless searches i never can find exactly what i am looking for.
Any information would be greatly appriciated as i am going to look @ the car this evening. thanks

Better yet should i stick it out till i find a v6

My ride is a 95 dohc 4cyl which was also the 94 specification. The sohc was only on 92-93 models. Sohc rated @88 hp & dohc @105 hp. Dohc has been a very reliable motor although its power may disappoint you compared to the V6. Not bad mated to a manual transmission though and mpg is generally very good when compared to the V6.
