the pefect set up to use would be from a BMW Z4, the have small xenon projectors, with a small projector high beam right beside it. just have to do some cutting and moulding.

Just an addition: Aiden here refers to Bi-Xenon projectors. I wish to make sure that people know that there are a lot of other Xenon projectors out there that are pretty small. Those would be low beam only ones. Hella 90mm in Xenon, Audi TT, Audi A6 (pre 2002), VW Golf (E-code only), Honda S2K and pretty much any Valeo made xenon projector are pretty small.

Also, Hella Bi-Xenon (1st Gen) is actually smaller lengthwise and larger in the lens department than Bosch. Bosch bi-xenon has igniter as a bulb holder and it makes it longer and bulkier at the end.

Sorry to get technical here. I guess it relly belongs at a general lighting forum instead.... just want to make sure that people know what is available if they are considering a purchase.

Curt: the length of a projector is not necessarily determined by the curved lens that is visible. Those small suckers could be really long. Not sure about Z4 ones though, have not seen measurements on those yet. Could be anything. Oh, also the reflector area is as a rule fatter than the lens as well.

Yah, they are long, but they will fit into the space constraints of the MX-3 engine bay.

once you mold everything together, the spot where you put the bulb into housing is only about 1-3 cm further back, plus Im using an igniter with a long lead so I can mount it remotly(not directly attached to the bulb.

But again, yes they are long and it will be a fun project for the winter. :)
