I have this auto rail-type seat belt in my 92 4-Cyl. It tarted getting stuck, but or opening-closing the door would fix the problem.
Yesterday night it got really stuck. The cable got out of the rail , but the motor inside still clicks. The thing is not functional anymore.
I really don't know how this mechanism works. Is it something I can fix myself? Any idea how?
If not, is it expensive? (or is there any related recall or lifetime guarrantee on this?)
Thanks!!!
HELP!!! - driver's seat belt stuck
Re: HELP!!! - driver's seat belt stuck
our automatic seatbelts have a recall on them... take it to a mazda dealer and they'll fix it for you for free... if you check the first page when you enter www.mx-3.com i think there's a section for recalls

Re: HELP!!! - driver's seat belt stuck
Thanks for the info -
I called the local dealer and Mazda US and both told me:
1. 12 years warranty on this auto seat belt from start of dealer warranty;
2. My car's belt was recalled and replaced in 1998 (don't know why this matters);
3. According to my VIN #, 12 year warranty ended October 30th 2004!
4. Therefore, "this time you will pay".

your seatbelt track
i had the same problem on mine and when i took it to the dealership they said my car had to stay for about 3 days so they can look into it but i need it for work so i couldnt leave it for that long. All i did was pop up the rearseat and theres alil circle cover thing that the seat kinda hides...popped it out used a allen wrench and pliers so roll thet seatbelt back by hand (door must be closed and car turned on (like it would be for the track to retract)) if you look in the now open cover dead smack in the middle theres a allen wrench hole just put it in and twist. Once thasts done you will see a wire that had a small connector just unplug it and that kills the seatbelt motor now just click/unclick by hand let me know if this works oh and one thing that worried me is would the belt still lock up if i braked hard....a couple of "brake checks" later yup it would still lock up...let me know if this helps..
