I don't know who is claiming to have a "badass" MX3? I talked to my STI friend about it last week (since some people here just can't let it go.) He said that he was not concerned in the least bit about getting off the line fast. He was still trying to break-in the engine. He also said that he never took it above 3000 RPM. Even then he still roasted me after the small jump I got on him off the line. He wants a rematch now that he knows he is the object of ridicule on this forum. He also told me that the 0-60 time is 5.9 sec. We will wait on the rematch until we can go to the track again. The track that we went to before was not very sophisticated. As I said before – more like a parking lot with cones. There is another track downtown that will give time sheets. I will let everyone know how I do then.

I have a few cents to put in. I had a 90 Subaru Legacy with the 1.8 Turbo(from japan) AWD I could lauch the thing at 5000rpm with 17" tires and smoke anyone off the line (except my homies WRX) And the other is that I also have a sohc 1.6 and I can take v-techs off the line including a totally built civic SI and my neighbors prelude. Thats just my expierence!

I'm not saying it didn't happen or that you are claiming to have a bad *** mx3 as I'm pretty sure I could beat my wife for a gear and a half in my sohc vs. the SIR... but, the other way around, and I don't think so.

If I were you, I'd just be bugging your friends and telling them they can't drive... stir the pot!! :D

I think we all have overlooked a key issue here i know have, we are forgeting about the tree at the drag strip.

if your buddy was new to it as you said they would have most likely had a slow reaction time thus allowing you to get off the line faster, howver unless its heads up racing it doesnt matter all that much.

most newbies either red light or have slow reaction time

Ya the owner of the STI was realy babing it. If you can keep up with him he isnt pushing it at all. a STI useing its full power would eat you up and throw you up at the same time =). My brothers modded ZX2 can bearly keep up with a WRX but not a STI.

does anyone even know people who drive scoobies ?? cause i know of like 6 and they are all wicked fast, 11,s at least. so unless your scoobies are broken we have no chnace at ever beating them

4 with STis, and then a few of the other versions. None of them were 11s out of the box... STis are a nice car... it really shouldn't lose at any point in the race with severe power and traction advantage.

this thread is a disgrace. With a ZE + intake and exhaust would have a chance with a WRX... Maybe. STI fugetaboutit. ZE + intake and exhaust = ~14.5-7. Stock WRX's can do 14 flat with a good driver/track conditions.

Short of F/I on a GS, it will NEVER beat a WRX. Not even with a chip off eBay.
