I recently replaced my rear rotors & got new pads. I had some brembo slotted/drilled rotors on the rear, but they were warped & i couldn't get any place to machine them so I just bought some $18 "duralast" Autozone brand rotors.
Little did I know the peices of sh%% moved your tire CLOSER to your strut body causing your tires to rub against the strut housing.
Maybe about 3,000 miles later....one of my brand new kumho 712 205/50 16" tires blew from the friction/heat from this rubbing. I never noticed that crap or even thought of it.
Upon removing the wheel, I looked at the center spindle and noticed there was an old rust mark about 1/3" farther from the end of the rotor.
In other words...the stupid pos autozone rotors aren't thick enough when they bolt to the spindle, and don't push the wheel out enough. If you wanted to fix it, you could get some wheel spacers but thats just ridiculous.
I suggest you DO NOT BUY GENERIC CRAP ROTORS!! Make sure the thickness of the rotors your are buying is the same or more than the ones you are replacing.

Re: WARNING: ppl with rear disc brakes
that sux, my rear brembos wouldent fit the hub. i had to beet the hell out of them with a rubber mallet. then bolt my rim on to try to snug them all up. i sanded the hubs a bit but didnt make any differance. but now they are on and work great.
are you going to try to get the manufactor of the disk to pay for any of it. or at least contact them about the improper fitment?

Re: WARNING: ppl with rear disc brakes
i did, but that isn't the problem at all.
As a matter a fact, my new 16x7 Rota Subzero's fit the rear without rubbing much at all (maybe occasionally).
When my rear tire blew out on my new subzero (passenger rear) I tried to replace it temporarily with one of my stock 15x6 honeycomb (gay-azz) wheels but those WOULDNT EVEN TURN they were so close to the strut...
So i ended up putting my front rota on the rear and crossed my fingers that it won't blow out either...it took 3000+ miles for the one to blow out so I'm not too concerned right now.
