Where to get zx2 s/r struts?
I've been doin some reading up on the zx2 struts and everyone says that oemfordparts.com has them but i checked the site even used the part numbers listed in the FAQ section and can't find them on the site... all the ones listed for the zx2 are around $70 but everyone says they paid around 160 a piece

Go to your local Ford dealership, they will have everything you need there. But first check out my ZX2 FAQ over at http://www.mx-3.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=36;t=000001

Are you lowering your car? Otherwise, I'd think it's cheaper and less hassle in the end to get KYB. You can get them for $210 a set of 4 out the door.

Re: Where to get zx2 s/r struts?
if you plan on buying them thru a local ford dealer call first, they have to be a ford motorsports dealer to sell them , i had gone to my closest dealer to order them and they told me i had to drive to apple valley (45min away) and its the only ford motorsports dealer in the meto area , so call first
sold the mx-3 , bought 04 gtp comp g , from the smallest v6 to one of the biggest 3800 s/c FTW

I've been considering this same switch, after 230,000 miles, my struts are creaking like your grandmothers rocker. lakersfan1, gotta question that ties in here, If I'm not lowering my car, is ZX2 conversion a bad idea? Will they not work well with stock springs?
If not broke - don't fix, modify. If broke - fix it right, and make it better.

Re: Where to get zx2 s/r struts?
I have no idea. According to the write-up, they will work but will lower the car 1/2" because they don't have as much travel. I'm not sure how that would work, though. Seems like they would be slamming into thier stops every time they rebounded.Originally posted by projexladen:

Even still, with needed to replace so much stuff for the ZX2 conversion, I don't think it'd end up cheaper than if you just did a KYB OEM replacement with just new bearings.

Re: Where to get zx2 s/r struts?
i was wondering this myself, i lowered my car 1.8" and i wanted to get the zx2 s/t struts, so should i go with something else due to the height of my car?
Electric Black '93 MX-3 GSR, Curved neck KLZE, KL36 ecu, Outlaw Engineering Thermal Spacers, Custom CAI, Carbon Fiber Invader Style hood, 2.25" straight pipe exhaust, custom muffler, lowered 1.8", and a set of 17" Exel DL-46's. With more to come once I get some $$$....

Re: Where to get zx2 s/r struts?
you really aren't replacing all that much... the struts (which you are already doing), the strut mounts (which is a good idea when replacing struts for the first time) and then the boots and camber bolts... stuff you should do with any lowering kit or strut upgrade
