Sway Bar and Control Arm Bushings

Post by SimonPK »

I have the clunk that everybody seems to get once their cars get old - I would appreciate any advice on changing the bushings in the control arms and sway bar as the Chilton's manual & the on-line manual seem to say just about the whole front end has to come off - is this true? I've already taken apart the upper strut mounts and greased it up - that made no difference to the clunk. Also I have seen the bushings at SRDperformance are these the ones to get?<p>thanks

all of these bushings are viewable by removing the front wheels and jacking up the car...just poke your head under therea nd look for grease leaking out of the balljoint, broken swaybar endlinks, and worn control arm buhins.

thanks - so I guess a worn bushing will have bits of rubber hanging from it or I'll see a gap where the bolt or bar goes through?
