SRD Billet Aluminium Crossmember
When the KL-ZE swap was done, the lower crossmember was upgraded to the SRD billet aluminium crossmember. I could not use the upper strut bar that I had originally installed since it didn't clear the MS-8 intake manifold. With the strut bar removed, KL-ZE and the SRD crossmember installed, I thought that the car would be slightly stiffer than my previous set-up.That assumption was totally wrong. After the first test drive, I asked my mechanic if he did anything with the steering cause it felt alot tighter. He told me that nothing with the steering was touched during the swap. With the current set-up, I have been able to test out the handling in several different conditions from normal city to highway driving. The car has alot better steering response, less flexing up front and the car holds its ground better through corners. The handling of the car is quite neutral and a really enjoyable to drive.

Upgrading to the SRD crossmember in my opinion is alot better than just getting a front strut bar. Combination of the crossmember and strut tower bar would be ideal but with the ZE in, it is not an option for me. I am currently looking at getting/making a solid front strut tower bar to clear the ZE and that set-up should provide even better handling. After I get the strut bar done, I will post an update.
cheers,
