60% til full boost.. a few questions

Post by marshmallow15 »

ok so almost done collecting all parts/pieces ill need.
i already have: t3 turbo, 300zx intercooler (smic), manual boost controller, aluminum dumptube shield (to protect bumper from muffler), t3 300zx downpipe, oil fittings oil pan side and turbo side, and im using a generic intake tube for my chargepipe.
i've ordered: dynomax 2.5 in/out muffler, 2.25" hotside/coldside intercooler piping, 2.5" dumptube piping, all needed reducer couplings, couplings, clamps, gaskets, flanges
i still need: 12:1 fmu, turbo manifold, BOV, rx-7 fuel pump/maf, and the levelten valvebody/transmission/torque converter upgrades and some other stuff like axles
anyway, a few questions:
1. about recirculating the bov into the intake stream.. would putting the maf between the throttlebody and intercooler be safe? if so, can i put the bov after the maf and recirculate into that same pipe?
2. if not, is the recommended setup putting the bov between the throttlebody and intercooler and recirculating into the same pipe?
3. is there any place i can buy a chargepipe that has a pre-fabricated mount to weld your bov onto and for the recirculation hose to connect to?
4. i know where to get my bov (greddy type s), but where do i buy the recirculation kit for it? i know this bov is capable of that.
5. im still confused as to what kind of injectors and fuel rails i can put in my sohc..or will stock injectors/fuel rail handle 5psi of boost?
***EDIT***6. oh and btw, i want a stainless steel oil line... what are the exact fittings/sizes i need for the oil return lines and the oil feed line? is there even a tee that i can use to hook up to the ss oil feed?
oh and if you're wondering what all this dumptube stuff is, im running the turbo to the downpipe, into a muffler, into a dumptube that will come out of the side bumper. yes my car will not be street legal, but then again it will not be daily driven. so please don't complain about that part of the turbo system.
any help is appreciated.
[ May 09, 2003: Message edited by: marshmallow15 ]

if its not going to be street driven, why keep the auto tranny? waste of money with that in there. not tryin to make ya mad here, but keeping that tranny on a drag type car is pointless.
also for the oil feed lines and other things , go to jgs tools for them. they have alot of accessories you will need.
http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/

im running my blitz open atmosphere(NOT recirculated) and it does fine. adjust the bov(be it screw type or washers) so it doesnt leak at idle and you will be fine.

1. no
2. this is the correct way of doing things. The bov recirculates before the turbo (aka just after the filter) but after the MAF.
If you are looking for 5psi, the stock rail will be fine, injectors should work ok as well. A good upgrade would be Protege LX injectors as they will give you a little bit more room to breath. There is no need for a new fuel rail at those levels. I know Electromotive sells fuel rail stock, you should be able find it at any shop that does a lot of custom work.
Now for the dump tube, are you using an internally gated T3? You message doesn't say. If so, then is this an exhaust cutout or is this truly a dump tube for the wastegate gases?

the wastegate is internal. sorry i meant a tube from the downpipe, to a muffler, into a tube routing the exhaust out.. i meant that pipe as the dumptube.
and yes i know it wont be street legal, but im putting the money on the atx because i WILL be making it legal sometime this or next year.. hopefully. or at least smog legal.
