Blue rubber light covers

Post by solo_ryder »

On the speedo cluster the lights that illuminate the speedo tach etc. have these blue "condom" type covers over them, I am pretty sure the heater controls have the same thing, my question is where can i get blue ones, because i want to change my heater controls to blue considering iam getting indiglo guages shortly.

p.s. if there is no covers availible, can u buy blue bulbs for this application. I am in canada by the way

you can get a bulb set at just about any auto parts store, advance autoparts, canadian tire, etc. shouldnt be too expensive either.

Lordco has them. Canadian tire, napa, Visions, And any custom install shop. I know Kelowna canadian tire has them, but I would suggest getting bulbs over the covers. the glass is actually tinted, and I found that if you buy the colored led bulbs, that they work awesome. the covers don't let enough light thru since all interior bulbs are such low wattage.

Speedhut also has these:

They give a really nice effect with the indiglo gauges:

Yeah, I e-mailed Speedhut about making more custom HVAC panels that could match custom gauges (right now they only have the white HVAC) and they said they have that in mind but don't know when it'll happen. I would def. buy a set of both gauges and HVAC if I could get them both in my colors (silver & blue).

its just not the lights that are green, the actual cluster faces have a green tint to them as well as the hvac, allready put blue bulbs in mine but they dont make the tiny ones in blue, think there were 2 in the cluster. with the hvac i took a scalple and scratched the coating off the back and put a transluscent blue vinyl over the clear, it sort of worked, not too bad. other thing is the colored bulbs started loosing the coating on them becoming clear bulbs. i would recomend the led replacements for the bulbs, they would be much brighter making the tinted green cluster faces more blue.

I got some of those bulb-covers at walmart. I shoved some red ones for my guage cluster...since it matches the blue/red indiglo guages I have.

They are expensive as crap though..like $4 for TWO colored covers. I bet they cost less than one cent to manufacture...the bastards
