to fix high pitch sqeeking noise,in 3 mx3s ive worked on this was the fix.the latch the hatch goes into becomes sharp causing noise.take a file to it and cut off the deformed part.open hatch and look down the latch with a brite light and see the right side is smeared over from latch rubbing it.remove metal and no more noise,it drove me crazy till i found it.

also if you don't mind duct or electrical tape, basicly just wrap a few pieces of tape around the U that is on the hatch and goes down into the trunk (haha now that was laymen's terms)
