will a supra spoiler fit a mx-3?

Post by MarkMoore »

i heard somewhere that an OEM Toyota Supra rear spoiler will fit directly on the mx-3. help me out, will it really fit and does it look goofy? I might have an opportunity to get one and of course wanted to know if it'd fit before i bought it. i love how high the spoiler stands, and i imagine it'd look pretty nice. if u know about this, please lemme know. Also, if it does fit, anyone have pics?

I remember a post a few years ago. A member bought a supra spoiler from a junkyard. However it wasnt a direct bolt up, he had to take a section out of it and then patch it back together.

A search may further assist u.

The Answer is NO. back when the supra came out I did purchase one and luckily I was able to give it back. it required too much modification. Why not just buy the one for the MX-3. there not that expensive.

You can add pretty much any spoiler to the car as long as you are willing to make the necessary modifications. Simply put spoilers for other cars were made for Other Cars not the mx-3 so if you want it on your car be prepared to spend time and/or money modifying it to fit properly but even then it still might not look right.

Many ppl have but why do that? Your car is front wheel drive and derives no performance benny from a rear wing. Just the opposite... A big ole "mother-in-law" seat/wing like that is just gonna create downward push on the rear at high speeds. That's good for a rear-wheel-drive cuz it helps the drive wheels maintain road contact. On fwd, that same aerodynamic effect is applying downward force where you don't need it.

It looks ugly on the back, I think mostly because there isn't really a lot of space to stick it there, just feels out of place when someone puts one of those wings on:
