Quick release pins for front bumpers idea
I'd like to create a quick release mechanism for my front bumper, since we get winters here in canada, i want a snap release on some sort of pins maybe with a lock or something.
Anyone have an idea what to look for or how to do it?.
thanks

its been done before on an integra. the guy used some 'dzus clips'. you'll have to weld a few points to the front half of your car, but it looks very clean. nice if you work a lot on your front end.

Yeah, if you go to Jeff's mazdamaniac page you'll see a few links. One of them contains an mx with these pins. THey're used in Japan alot by street drifters, so if the get railed in the morning bumpers can be switched. THey look very clean.

These pins sound like a sweet deal for a theif. Imagine comming out to your car and your front bumper is missing

Re: Quick release pins for front bumpers idea
plus i'm sure they are in the engine bay so they would have to bust that open to get to the pins i'm sure so it wouldn't be super easy. and you could make them locking pins so you need a key

just search on google for 'dzus clips' or 'dzus pins' summit racing holds them too.
