Spoiler / trunk garnish question

I have a 92 GS, i want to put a custom spoiler on similar to what vaughn did. But i've been doing some reading and...if i take off my stock spoiler, it wont have that black piece underneath like on the 4cyl RS's? correct? I'm going to have to get that black piece and then mount a spoiler onto that? also how do i take off my spoiler i haven't had a chance to check it out, because it's hella cold out and i've been to busy re-upholstering the seats/doors and installing my sound system.

it unbolts from underneath. do you have the wrap-around style? if so, i have a hatch garnish i'll trade ya. it's in perfect condition. let me know.

hey dude, i was just in the garage and took off the OEM spoiler on my 93 gs, and i had the same problem, no black strip. once you attach the black thing, an after-market spoiler should mount on that. i need that black piece too, so if you hear tell of anything let me know, i have an FX Designs Combat spoiler comming for x-mas, and need that part asap.
