FiberImages has a complete CF Civic. It looks wicked. I tell ya, if I COULD do that to my car I would definately.
The price of CF compared to steel is over 500% more, and compared to polyurethane or fiberglass its about 300-400% more.
~A

for those who cant accept the fact that c/f is strong, rigid, lightweight, and sylish is either new into the scene or has bad taste. i completely support ya in this project jarid. if your producer needs supplies, i know where you can buy some carbon fiber and other resins/molds/etc stuff you need to make the c/f at wholesale prices. remember i made a hood too yannoe.

driving around w/2 black fenders is pointless. the weight differernce isnt worth the money IMO, As far as style goes, it would make your car look like it was in an accident and u put diff color fenders on it.

yea maybe from far away, but up close when the people see that its carbon fiber, they'll know that the driver means business.

Could you imagine the strength your mx would have with the entire fron end CF? You could bash thru brick walls without as much as a ding! Hee hee. I know thats a lil far fetched but in theory its correct.

I think CF fenders would be a good idea, As I just went to a Mazda dealer to get the price of a new OEM fender. They told me it would cost me 350.00 for the fender because they have to special order it because it is a rare car that has been out of production for a while and it would cost me 150.00 to have it painted to match my car. So if we could get CF fenders for less then 500.00 it would be far better it would be stronger, lighter. Plus after there is a mold made for it you can always buy a replacement. And if your not into the look of CF, paint it. Just think it will make your car lighter maby not much but it will be able to resist more dammage. I just got done creaming my fender on what seemed like a tap. So if we can get a GB on this later on I'm in.

hmm your car has anywhere from 88 to 130hp and is front wheel drive. And with this you want to remove wieght from above the front wheels? you know how much traction youll loose. Carbon fiber is just for show on the fenders, if there were carbon fender flares then that would be cool...my opinion

Just go on a diet. That is the cheapest way to shave weight off your car... :D

traction with the weight wont really be an issue...cf is stronger and most traction comes from the wind downforce on the body panels. when it comes to weight and traction, you'll get more traction when idling if you have a heavy car. lol

So you guys are saying that you didn't buy the cf hoods for weight reasons! You bought them for looks. Maybe I'm just a dumb girl, but unless it's a really nice paint job I prefer to have my car all one color. Je ne comprende pas!!!
