ok so to do that, i buy the candy apple, mask off everything i want to stay it's natural color, then just paint over the amber and use a clear coat after that? it can't be that simple.

yep it's that simple. make sure you paint (using a spray paint of course) both the turn signal and the area that is already red, so it looks uniform when your done. clean them properly b4 working. and the most important thing is LIGHT COATS, very very very light coats. let each coat dry, and keep applying coats until it is as dark as you want. then apply a clear coat or a soft wax to protect it and make it look glossy.

i've noticed that everyone who reds out their tails leave the white reverse area clear...is it illegal to have that part red?<P>oh and also, is there any way i can use something to change the shape of my taillights. for example, if you turn on your taillights, you'll notice the inner part is round, but the outer part is flat. what can i do to make the outer part round as well. do i open up the taillights and put something there to make the shape of a round edge on that thing? it'll look nice...kinda like an oval shape.
