series II hood scoop

I bought one of these and before recievibg was planning on cut out my hood to put it in and make it useful. When i recieved it, it seemd like there was know use since there was only two little slots in it. So I'm wondering if the people that have one of the scoops cut it out or just bolt it right on

i don't have one but if you're cutting a hole in the hood, then cut out the bottom of the scoop, too.

A fellow mx owner I know has that scoop and he noticed that there are only two holes as well, what he did was make 2 more holes at the front of the scoop, makes sense or the scoop would probably fly off. Anyway, he has a K&N style air filter so he had no need to cut the hood out.
