Custom Decals

Post by Raivynn »

Oh yeah. I finally got my windows tinted (which was a pain in the butt. they re-did the hatch because of how bad a job they did the first time...it's still not show quality, but it's better than the first try!) which was $140 with taxes, and my custom decals! They look great, and I was surprised as to how well they matched my car. There's still much to be done (functional hood scoop, sideskirts, touring wing, front lip, maybe lowering springs for the front, wheels) to the exterior of the car, but the mechanical stuff has to be fixed first, and I'm out a job. >_< Don't have one quite yet. Kinda sucks - I'm down to the wire just paying for gas and such.
Anyways -- pictures are here: http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/car01.jpg
Front view http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/car02.jpg
Passenger side decal http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/car03.jpg
Hatch decal http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/car04.jpg
Just a rear view http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/car05.jpg
Driver's side decals
Enjoy!
------------------
-- Zoom Zoom Zoom -- The spirit of the sports car.

Decals are on the exterior, Chris. If you put them on the inside, you'd put them over the tint, and they would be smoke-silver. If you put them under, then you'd have to tint around them -- and the tinting was hard enough -- dude said it was like "tinting a basketball" -- Image Oh well.
I'm glad you approve!
------------------
-- Zoom Zoom Zoom -- The spirit of the sports car.

Nice car man! Of course (just like all of us), it needs rims and other stuff, but it still looks nice and definatley has potential. I had my car tinted shortly after I got it also. I cannot remember the brand of tint, but it is metallic and cost me $380.00. I know it is expensive, but it has a LIFETIME warranty on it. It WILL NOT turn purple. The guy also said that even if I scratched the tint on purpose, that it would still be covered by warranty. I figured that it would be worth the money for a guarantee like that. It has a very reflective look from the outside (almost like a mirror), but on the inside looking out, it looks black. It makes a HUGE difference in cutting the heat.

Yeah -- she has potential all right. I have had her for almost 2 years now, and I still haven't names her! So far, the best thing is "Gin Ryuu" -- AKA, Silver Dragon. It just sounds cooler in Japanese.
I was also curious as to the interior styles on other people's MX's -- Mine has the funky round vents, and all the other interiors I have seen -- DON'T. Do I have some weird dash style or something?
Pictures: http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/Dcs00043.jpg It's not the best caliber of images, I know, but it's a start. There's also a pic of my seat covers, which is located here: http://raivynn.homestead.com/files/Dsc00044.jpg .
I hope you enjoy my little MX....she needs some work, but then again...don't we all? Image When I get the money, and she's able to make it through the winter (needs all new belts {including the timing}, new radiator/heater hoses, and all that mess freaked with. Gonna cost me a pretty penny. >_< Probably around the neighborhood of $600-700 total. But...it's also 100K maintenance time...)
Enjoy, and good luck with everything!
--Raiv.
------------------
-- Zoom Zoom Zoom -- The spirit of the sports car.

Hey dude this is a little off topic but I like the fog lights you have (hidden in the front grid). Where did you get those and how much?
------------------
Brainless
93 Red RS
geocities.com/j_micho (last update 05-09-2001)

Brainless:
Pilot elliptical fog lights, about, say, maybe $60, including taxes (I think). I found them at AutoZone...I bet you can order them online, too. The switch that comes with the lights SUCKS -- it's a little orange do-hickey thingy. O.o I didn't like it, so I bought a green toggle switch --- and melted it. So...I I forgot to put a relay on my lights! Image Sue me. ^_~
Oh well. Good luck on finding those headlights. (They're a breeze to install...minimal drilling, minimal wiring, unless you want the Pilot relay kit...that's complicated.)
Have fun!
--Raiv.
------------------
-- Zoom Zoom Zoom -- The spirit of the sports car.

Brainless:
Try Pilot's homepage. They probably won't show up on Autozone's site. You're probably better off ordering from Pilot anyway -- there's no "middle man" in the process of buying! Makes them a little cheaper, probably. I don't know. You might not find them on a website at all -- you might have to take a drive to Autozone and order them! That would suck...but, oh well.
Good luck on finding those foglights...after I bought mine -- there were never any more in stock!
--Raiv
------------------
-- Zoom Zoom Zoom -- The spirit of the sports car.

Brainless:
I've found a few places that sell Pilot lights online -- but none of them have the series foglight that I used. I don't get it. I'll keep you updated if I find anything.
--Raiv.

Personally...I don't like the round foglights for the MX. It just looks silly. You have a car that in no way look like it deserves round fog lights. Maybe it's just me -- but I think they're tacky.
Image
--Raiv.
------------------
-- Zoom Zoom Zoom -- The spirit of the sports car.
