yo is this true?.......

Post by MarkMoore »

my friend has a cavalier and he told me that there's an extremely simple way to make any car faster. just pop the hood, find the throttle, and tighten it w/ a screwdriver... he swore by it... i was a little skeptical so i asked my mechanic and he confirmed what my friend said, however, he told me the down side is that it might do weird things to the ecu and the check engine light will prob stay on....

nope only thing you could do on our is alter the tps (not a good idea) or adjust the throttle screw which will just make you idle higher

Unless your throttle is not opening all the way to begin with (which I have never seen happen) nothing is going to happen.

In short, no. the people you are talking to are either messing with you or seriously lacking some intelligence.

He's just trying to make you screw up your car because he's jealous that you have an MX and he's got a Crapalier.

That WILL only make you idle fast, which makes it easy to launch fast, but then what? Pointless. He's just silly.

I would be too if my steering wheel looked like that... :confused2:

Wait, wait, wait, wait.

You're all wrong!! The old school "Screwdriver" hot rod trick *ONLY* works in conjuction with j-spec performance air. It's really, really expensive but, increases gobs of HP over regular air.
