My motor is dead, idles alright (kinda rough), and doesnt seem to overheat (havnt tried driving it) But it burns insane amounts of coolant judging by the smoke. Thick white smoke pooring out my exhaust. I want to determine if its rebuildable. How do i tell if my block or one of my heads is cracked? I'm hoping its just the headgasket. My understanding is if i do a compression test and its way below standards then its just the head gasket correct?
If it means anything its a KLZE (24 valve 2.5L V6) And is sitting in my car after running for 2 days after the swap

Do a compression test for sure. the smoke smells like coolant huh? you positive?
Mine burned oil out of the exhaust for about 20 miles, the oil that the K8 left when it threw a rod. It was TONS and I do mean TONS of white smoke and smelled like exhaust, not so much oil or coolant.

Well it ran fine for 2 days, so i doubt its just burning off excess oil.
