What could be causing this noise when steering?

Post by stevo34 »

The noise i'm referring to is probably best described as a sort of groaning/creaking and i can hear it when for example the car is idling and i turn the steering wheel sharply to the left, then sharply to the right. I only mention hearing it when idling although it will possibly be there when driving too.
I assume its obviously steering related (clever eh!), but what exactly will it be?
Cheers all

its the drain that the power steering pump makes on the engine at idle. Unless its very loud its not really a problem.

Thanks for the replies. The power steering fluid is not low and i guess the noise isnt exactly deafening so i will just keep an ear on it.
