HELP!! MY SHIFTER FELL TO THE GROUND

Post by MX3parkerGS »

OK so im ur average 16yr old slammin gears in his mx3gs when all of a sudden, CLUNK, my shifter became like a foot shorter...my whole shifter like fell to the ground, it woulda fell all the way, but it smacked the top of my exhaust, i could still shift to get home, but the shifter moves freely up and down like a foot, so i ripped everything apart, and all i can see is it looks like these 2 rubber thingys were holding it really tight n place, and ones broke kinda, but im thinking to my self, is all that was holding that whole thing there jus 2 rubber thingys? PLEASE help me does anyone kno what broke, or whats it called, or if its an easy fix, or what!?!?!? please help

ProjectMazda.com
This webiste walks you through everything you need to know even though it is for installing a new shifter the concept is the same. It sounds like your plastic retaining o rings broke.
