Alright, so my K8's out and the KL is just about ready to go in, but there area a few small things I would like to ask first.. btw, I searched them all and couldn't find much.. Anyways..
1. On my KL there is one of those small black solenoids (like the VRIS ones) with 2 hoses and a wiring clip that is mounted about 10 inches behind the throttle body, along the back of the intake manifold - one of the tubes goes into the top of the throttle body, the other is cut off for me.. Here is a picture:

Anyways, does anybody know what this is, and where it was on the old K8 manifold?
2. The knock sensor on the KL had two wires and the knock sensor on the K8 only had one.. I just used the red wire assuming the back was just a ground.. does anybody know if this is correct (It has been discussed, but I can't find any definitive answers)
3. About the 3rd coolant sensor - is it correct that I can just ignore this as long as I'm using the KL ECU?
4 . The timing marks on the cam gears - there is 1 yellow dot on each cam gear and 2 alignment notches on the left side and 1 on the right side.. I'm not sure how to line these up.. Help would be appreciated.
5. Finally, before I removed the K8 there was a vacuum hose connected to the top, most-passenger side intake track. I THINK it was going to the cruise control untill... that round thing on the passenger side of the engine bay.. Where do i connect this line on the KL?

I believe its for the evaporative emissions. It just needs to hook up to a vacuum source

only if your kl ecu is a 94 or newer

there are tiny arrow points cast into the valve cover that these lign up with.

Ahh.. Thank you! I got my ECU from lazziey - I'm not sure which year it is.. I think I will tap the coolant neck for the sensor as long as I'm at it.. Donno about the nock sensor though? I suppose it would be ok to tap a new hole with a nipple for the cruise control line in an intake runner myself? Hmm.. Thanks again man!
