KLZE code 41

Post by SimonPK »

I run a KLZE with a K8 ecu and when I'm on the highway cruising at a steady 80 km/hr or around 3200 rpm in 5th, the engine check light comes on after about 10 minutes or so. I've checked the code and it is 41 = VRIS 1 - I've also checked the VRIS and it seems ok - it opens and closes ok at around 3000 or so rpm. So the questions I have are:

1. is this normal when running the k8 ecu with KLZE as I am thinking maybe the VRIS opening point on the KLZE is different than the K8 ECU expects so it gives a code?

&

2. will it cause any harm / damage?

thanks!

I don't think it has anything to do with the KLZE. It seems like an intermittent fault, either in the ECU, the connections to the VRIS solenoid, or the solenoid itself.

You could swap solenoids 1 and 2, and see if you get Code 46 instead of 41, which would prove that the solenoid is at fault. Or the problem may go away, if its just a bad connection at the solenoid.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)
