Post by BucktownMx3 »

Will that 2.3L motor work in our cars? cuz it seems to have the same kinda motor mounts, it has the supercharger already on it and 2 small 10" by 6" by 3" intercoolers on it. If it does bolt right in (i think it would) you'd have to have some sort of hood scoop so the hood could clear the taller intake manifold (assuming it is actually taller) also the ECU may not connect up perfectly. Who knows. I'd like to see someone try it. If the motor mounts are the same its worth a shot. It just may turn out to be alot more work then a KLZE swap.

will the supercharger and intercoolers work on either the 2.5 or 1.8?(i know it might take a lil bit of work) but could they be fitted without to much frustration?

It says above (and I've seen it elsewhere) that the intake ports on the KJ are further apart to take the supercharger, so it can't be fitted to a KL or K8. I don't know how they achieve this (taller block and conrods?)

Btw, the KJ ECU is ATX only.

The S/C and Im will NOT work on anything but the KJ engine. You have to use the KJ heads, and they will not work with any other K series engine.

More details on the KJ at the foot of this article including some dyno data.

It sounds like the air/air intercoolers are not very effective. Now if you could find space for water/air intercoolers.......
