Well it will work- but not work right. Why go through all the trouble of swapping the engine and then not put in the right ECU? If you spend $1k don't skimp on $150 for an ECU. If you run the K8 ECU you get crappy gas mileage, down on power and the VRIS points are all wrong. Thats almost as close to not working with it still working as you can get.

That mans correct dammit! I agree 100% with TsiMiata why not spend an extra $200 at most to complete your whole engine package. It just wont run right without it.

man, i ran my k8 ecu and it ran soo rich, it ate a 1/4 tank just to work and back, it was sick, fortunately, my ZE ecu came in next day
i would not perfersonally recommend the k8 ecu on the ZE. If it ends up eating gas like mine did, the ZE ecu will pay for itself after a few weeks, considering how much it was gonna cost me in gas...
I belive you can run a k8 ecu with the 2.5vaf pretty good, i cant quite remember, but in the end, its basicly the Ecu/Vaf combo
[ September 17, 2003: Message edited by: Nd4SpdSe ]

One thing I noticed on their website is that they have a crappy warranty.
30 days on just the block and heads doesn't exactly sound like they expect them to last or be in good condition.
Sounds like more of a miss than a hit.
~A

Warranty doesn't mean much to me. Usually by the time I have the motor to the point where it's ready to go in the car the warranties up anyway.

my warranty was 3 months from EngineLand, my warranty was into 30 of the 90 das when i finally installed it, we stripped the engine to find out what else we needed and what exact parts to get, and went from there

Yeah, warranties on motors are stupid to begin with, I agree.
You have to pay the shipping there and back anyways, so it's not even worth it.
Either way, thanks for letting us know.
~A
