k8 salvage(post ze)
k8 salvage(post ze)
what types of things should i get off my k8 before its off to the dumps? I wanna keep my Intake manifold, and thats about all i can think of, any internals i should on too? i dont know if there are interchangable internals? anyways thanks for the info

Keep everything. You never know what misc parts you may need. Well maybe not the internals. But keep all working sensors, extra nuts and bolts are handy, pullys and tensioners, valve covers,disty, IM, TB, alternator, well as much as you can strip off. Just the other day my coolant temp. sensor died. I just pulled it off my other engine and swapped it over....problem fixed. It's not that you NEED these parts. But it pays to have back ups for the unexpected.

ya that makes sense and i would if i could butttt i live in an apartment and my folks live 1050mk away so unless i find someone that doesnt mind storing it then i got drop it at the dump. So I wanna strip it as much as i can and bow all that up.

I live in an apartment too and as we speak I have an engine sitting right behind me and a pair of racing seats one on each side. I use to have the engine in my living room, now it's in the spare bedroom. Just get a stand, find a nice corner of the apt. put a thick piece of plywood or particle board to lay on the floor and just wheel it on.

and for misc. parts I have a couple cardboard boxes and several plastic bags (ziplock freezer bags are great) full of bits 'n' pieces.
