Hi guys.
Today we start with the swap.
The engine is out.
I planned to use my mx-3 clutch but it was on its end so we have to wait till we have the new clutch.
Now I have a few questions.
Can someone explain me what the EGR is what it does and where I can find it.
Same as the VRIS solinoid. What is that and where is it.
On the downpipe exhaust there is a pipe wich is going to a sort of electical pomp wich is not on my KL-ze exhaust.
What is that?
And if anyone knows about some other issue's please let me know.
I have the millenia heads.
Thanks !
Dennis

So really seem like your jumping in on the deep end of the pool. I sure would hope you have a shop manual you are using. Because your gonna be dead in the water if not. If you do have it, sit down and read it over and over and then I won't have to write 3 pages explaining all of this to you.

Lol
I have the shop manual.
Actually I'm not doing the swap my self.
An expert is doing it.
Now i'm trying to find out what he is doing.
I just read the manual but it is not realy clear about the EGR.
The problem is that my english is verry bad.
All the terms you guys use over here are totaly different in The Netherlands and the Dutch manual I have here.
That makes it verry difficult.
BTW what I dont get is, the kl-ze does not have a EGR.
When I asked if it possible to use the k8 EGR they said it was possible.
No my question, if the kl-ze does not have a EGR, how does the kl31 ECU knows that it should use the EGR?
[ March 15, 2003: Message edited by: leiden ]

Re: the swap began
the klze ecu doesnt have egr on it so hooking it up would be useless. plus egr is disabled at WOT anyway.

Re: the swap began
Is it required to have a functional EGR in the Netherlands?
KLZE, ZE PCM, UR pulley, PS catback, PS STS, PRM, IAC bypass, 64mm TB, FOP hair gel

Re: the swap began
Well, I think egr is not required but the c02 should be below 4%.
If the EGR is the solution for that than I prefer running the EGR.
I hope you have some other options because I dont want to run my k8 ecu.
