The heads say KL31 1A1, which is a tell tale sign of a KLZE. The combination of KL31 cams and a curved neck mani is interesting, though I've never seen KL31 cams in anything in north america. Should be a KLZE.

Yes, sorry for the image, its is dark here right now so I need the light of the camera.
Thats why it sucks but if you look good at it you can see the kl31 signs.
We just opened the top of the engine to see what marks the heads had.
They said kl01.
This is no good isn't it?
Now I have another question.
This engine had a manual transmision.
What do I have to do now?
Can I use the flighwheel (correct me if the translation is wrong) of the stock engine V6 ?
question2:al the electrical wires are cut.
can I use the wires of the mx-3?
Are the al the same and al the plugs?
Please let me know

Wait a sec.
I'm a little confused.
The picture you see, is that the cams or the heads?
I think I translated them wrong and turned it around?

Those could be Millenia heads, they have the same numbers on them. Pull the valve cover and tell us what is stamped on the cams please.
Yes, you can use the engine wiring from the MX-3. I did.
[ February 20, 2003: Message edited by: pelado ]

The cams said KL-01 465
This is the KL-ZE from a milenia?
But what about the auto transmission?
My Mx-3 has a manual transmission.
I can use the stock flywheel or do I need to buy a new one?
[ February 20, 2003: Message edited by: leiden ]

You use the stock flywheel. You should read the 2.5L Swap FAQ in the V6 FAQ forum here.

The statement below needs to be scrutinized and discussed as it contains only information gathered from various sources and a conclusion based on that info.
The "ZE" designation was (I believe) given to all KL engines destined for the Japanese market, i.e., it was given to KL engines that were 200ps and those that were less. An engine importer can therefore claim any KL engine to be a "ZE" without making a fraudulent statment.
This is why I recommend only a purchase of a straight neck IM KLZE engine. It's too much work and expense for an importer to take a straight neck IM and bolt it on another engine.
[ February 22, 2003: Message edited by: pelado ]
