Duckin Fistributor

Post by Hy300 »

3000 miles on a rebuilt Mitsubishi distributor and already its giving me problems. Last week it died on me, luckily as I came to a red light, but the car started after a minute just as it was my turn to pull forward. Then today I'm going across a bridge and it goes out on me at 60 in 4th. The problem zone.
Now I just found out that the place I bought it from doesn't have a warranty for failure within any timeframe or mileage, DAMMIT!
Here is a good question, this way I can avoid buying the third distributor for this car, the second one I've payed for. Will the distributor from a 3000GT fit onto our engine. I know the 3000GT is V6, and by the same manufacturer of our disty. Also, if it does fit it would produce a bigger spark as well, which can donate to better performance (theoretically).
Moderators? Anyone who knows DSM engines?
[ November 11, 2002: Message edited by: Hy300 ]

Highly doubtful DSM disty will fit, even if it manufactured by Mitsubishi.
If you buy rebuild disty, make sure your ignitor been replaced. If buying new, buy the one with code KLY** vs K08**. KLY is an upgraded one. Or tell them you need one from 94-95 model Mx-3 or Mx-6 or 626 or Probe V6.

So hope this helps.

I believe they're all made by mitsubishi. Want I want to know is that, does the 3000GT distributor have the same firing order and will it fit?
Oh, and I was just at the Mazda dealer checking out prices. $300 for Millenia S injectors and close to $400 for a 93 RX-7 fuel pump.
