VRES?

does anyone have any idea about how you could create a variable resonance exhaust system. I was thinking have a y pipe after the flex pipe and run dual 1 and 7/8 (i think thats what the factory size is) pipes back, and have some kind of butterfly valve or something in the y pipe to only let the gases use one pipe at low rpm's, and have the valve open at higher rpm's to let the larger volume of exaust gasses exit with no back pressure while still keeping a high velocity the whole time. The valve would have to be electronicly controled (like the vris is) but thats the part where i get lost. Does anyone have any thoughts on any of this?

why can't they just have their damn site in english, since a lot of american's buy stuff from them it would be smart for them to have the option of english or japanese.<BR>Thats not quite what I had in mind though. I was thinking of a way to create a system like some of the ferraris have, where at low rpm's you only use one pipe, then at higher rpm's the other pipe opens up to acomidate the larger amout of exhaust gasses. this type of system can keep back preasure at a minimum while keeping a high velocity for the exhaust gasses throughout the power band, therfore making the most amount of power possible from an exhaust stand point. It would be nearly impossible to operate this valve halfway through each gear while shifting as well. thats why it would have to be electronicly controled like the variable resonence intake system is on our cars. i don't know enough about the vris to try to create something that function simuarly.

Maybe someone should fit an actuator and a solenoid and run a vacuum line down there to connect it to the ECV. Similar to the VRIS. Then use a rpm switch to control the solenoid.<P>I am browsing through various japanese sites with the help of altavista. Unfortunately after Italian, English and German foreign languages there is no place for Japanese :-)

i have an idea that might work... have a cutout with that same butterfly system. It would have to be alittle more airtight to keep some back pressure, but it would give better gains once it opened up at say... 3500-4K? plus, if a cop is following, or just is nearby, just keep the revs down and he'll never know you have a cut out.
