i miss my mx3!!!!

Post by killerpickle »

Sup peeps,
Well, I dropped my mx off at A-Spec on monday...the 26th, and it should be done next week...but, oh boy do I miss my car!! Is it wrong to be so much in love with a car?....
Anyway I should have a nicely running KLZE powered mx3 in a few days, and, against many people on this boards suggestions, a 6 puck copper clutch made custom by ASPEC. In the end, I really wanted to get the HD-SS clutch kit from ACT, but it was more expensive and I had little time. He assured me that they install it in nearly every swap, with no complaints. Oh well, its only a 450 dollar risk :)
I bought NGK G-Power spark plugs, and mobil-1 synthetic oil for the swap.
later!

Good luck trying to pass the e-test in ontario with a KLZE bud. It's almost impossible to get em' to pass in Ontario. I will probably get flammed for this post, but it's the truth.

i believe its 350 american. Which is roughly 500 canadian and thats before duty shipping and tax...I think total it was over 600 dollars and thats not even installed.
I got the aspec clutch for 450 installed no tax....
As for emissions. Its really not too hard to find someone who will "make sure" it passes certification, if you know what I mean...

Passing Emmisions is not an Issue.
Just visit your local "Carquest" and spend 25 dollers on a emmision solution. it garentees a pass. or you could also put some ethenol in the tank and drive it on the highway for 1/2 hour before the test.
hope that helps.

also never tell the mech. you did this.

haha, there's nothing wrong with being in love with your car. I drove home the other day and then didn't notice until the next morning right before going to school that I had a flatty. No time to pump it, I took the bus. In that short time, I missed my car so much! just knowing it wasn't in the parking lot and I wouldn't be able to drive it home...okay...maybe there is something wrong with that...I'm obsessed!

The klze will pass emmisions in ontario and here is some proof.
KLZE tested on 13/11/2001
limit reading
cc ppm 89 4
co% 0.50 0.01
no ppm 684 490
rpm 2845

Here is what my 1.8 did in 1999
limit reading
cc ppm 89 75
co% 0.50 0.14
no ppm 684 314
rpm 2134
so it appears my ze ran cleaner than my 1.8 did.
I have my egr hooked up, all I can say is mine passed with flying colours and I hope it keeps running that way.
Hope my formatting shows up so you can read this
Cheers

I haven't picked up my car yet, its done though. I am wondering if A-spec hooked up the egr for me? If not how would I do this? Is it hard...I'll search the forums but if you can tell me how I'll send you lots of money....or maybe at least give you five stars :)
thanks
