Japanese version of the 1.8v6?

Does anyone know if the jspec version of the 1.8v6 has any more hp/torque than the american version? if so could u post the stats? thanks

same motor I believe, though they dont have the 1.6L rs, they have a 1.5L.<P>And believe it or nor, a japaneese mx-3 owner I spoke with who lives in japan, tells me they dont even swap KLZE's.

Engines are the same but they run higher bhp figures due to better quality petrol (gas) thigher octane = more power which might be why some jap spec engine dont aways perform when tranplanted in the states :eek:

the final version mx3 in japan is 145hp,high compression 9.5:1,before is 140hp,ratio 9.2:1

I think you'll find that the J-Spec K8 (K8ZE) puts out 145hp / 120 because it has a 10:1 compression ratio and more aggressive cams.... I have this information on an engine spec sheet from a mazda parts technician.... plus I own one :)

the KLZE has 10:1 as well. and 200 HP<BR>not a hard swap. prolly be just as expensive.
