ZE and 03 Differences?

Post by mazdaspeed002 »

How's it going. I am looking into doing a swap with either the ZE or the 03 engine. I have a few questions though. If i were to swap the 03 because its a hell of a lot cheaper, would the mx-3 GS V6 ECU and VAF/MAF work or would i have to use the 03 ECU and VAF/MAF? Which would give me better performance. Same with the ZE, would i need to use a ZE ecu? Also, whats truly is the difference between the 03 and the ZE. I know the HP differences are there, but is it all in the IM because of the way its ported or are the cylinders bored and pistons larger etc? Please let me know if you have answers because if its just the IM then i might aswell swap the 03 and have the 03 intake ported because i wouldnt be able to use the ZE IM anyways because of the Master cylinder issue that i read about. Damn sorry about the run on sentences. If you got answers i'd appreciate it.<P>Thanks guys

No mazda or ford parts catalogues refer to a KL03. They all refer to the general engine assembly for the 92-95 motors as KLDE's for USspec stuff.
