156.2 H.P. KL-ZE Dyno Run
I jsut took my '95 GS KL-ZE to the dyno and it made 156.2 H.P. at 6000 rpms and 147.7 LBS
of torque at 4700 rpms.
Both drop of after 6300.
My car is running the stock exhaust manifolds
and muffler, stock intake pipes with the air filter removed(dyno only).
And a cork sport KL-ZE programmed 1.8 ecu.
Dose this sound right? Will my car pick up about 18 whp(21 BHP) with a cold air intake and a 2.5 inch exhaust with high flow muffler?
Any one have a ZE that is simmilar to this?

Those numbers are right on for your setup. A 2.5" exhaust will help it breathe alot, as well as a cold air intake.

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.

the stock 200hp is to the crank. his numbers are to the wheels.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.

196hp at the crank not the wheels. As dave said you'll pick up a few with an exhaust but not 18-20 hp. Any idea what Corksport programmed on ur new ECU? or what they changed I guess you could say.

Re: 156.2 H.P. KL-ZE Dyno Run
I told cork sport to optimize the ecu for a KL-ZE with cold air intake, high flow cat and a high flow exhaust.
I dont have any of that on right now but I will this summer. This might be why it is a little low on power. The computer might be giving the engine too much fuel and timing.
The other dyno graphs I have seen of KL-ZE probes show a noticable drop in power
(10-20hp) at each of the VIRS cross overs(2700,3700ect) but mine is very straight with only about 1-3hp loss.

Re: 156.2 H.P. KL-ZE Dyno Run
I havent seen any good dyno reports from the Corksport EPROM. They get it from EL prototypes, who I've never seen anything impressive from. There's a PT member by the name of Craig Spencer who is getting real ZE ECU's that will plug into our harnesses and use our JE50 VAF from New Zealand. Should be around $100USD shipped I believe.

Is it possible that its just a KL (KL-03)???? I still dunno where to get my KL-ZE and I'm scared that they would send me a KL-03 instead of the KL-ZE... is that possible???

If you haven't searched out there and viewed the available photos of ZEs and read the threads on how to identify ZEs, then you're as careless a purchaser as you can possibly be. Don't ask me where they are either! If I can find them, YOU can find them! It's an easy search!

Re: 156.2 H.P. KL-ZE Dyno Run
Im not making any excuses about the horse power my car made, But I just want to clear some things up.
I wanted to know how much power my car is making as I drive it every day.Not how much power I can get out of it by icing down the intake manifold and letting the engine cool down half an hour with huge cooling fans on it between pulls.
Those numbers I made were after I had made my first pull, which was made after a 15 min heat soak after I came off the highway.
Then we let the car cool off with the hood open and the engine off for 4 min while I pulled out the air filter.
If I wanted to make over 160 HP at the wheels Im sure I could have by doing what I typed above, But that is not how my car is every day.

Apparently Curt, your engine is in the same ballpark as another KLZE.
Now, if you really wanted some depressing numbers, dyno a 1.8 V-6! The best I've come across on a K8 is about 130 whp and that's with all the bells and whistles.
Are you running a 2.5 VAF with a Millenia intake?
Can your dyno operator use your O2 sensors to give you some A/F numbers?
The only additional suggestions I'll make is to install phenolic spacers.

Re: 156.2 H.P. KL-ZE Dyno Run
Thanks for the info
Im running the stock 1.8 VAF sensor and a re-programmed 1.8 ECU.
The eunos 800 manifold is allready touching the hood liner on my car if I were to use the spacers I would have to remove the liner and grind down some of the bolts on the intake manifold, and maybe grind the hood a little ) I will be done.
Then comes the 65 shot of ZEX
