knocking sound from right side

Now I'm hearing a knowcking sound from the right side of the hood. It almost sounds like a diesel engine. Like the old diesel Mercedes. Could it be related to the "CHARGE"light?? I should really go and get my alternator checked. The stupid thing costs $375.00 to replace, not counting labour $72/hr. Its begining to worry me.

I had the same problem with my k8 engine. You sould do a test of the compression of the engine. My engine had 112,000 k's and it started to do that. The compression on the pistons was awful. Sounds like a ring job.

Hi I just shifted mine, it cost me 5500 dkr, with work , thats about 685 us$, and they have just cut the prices with 30%, that's the prices in denmark, (you know HAMLET) so what are you waiting for, mine stopped working from day to day, [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]
