Won't start.
Hey. I just changed my valve cover gasket and put everything back where it belongs, but now it won't start. I've got spark, but it seems like no fuel is getting to the rail. Is there some way that I have to prime it, or something else anyone can think of that can help me along?
------------------
'92 Tropical Emerald Green GS 5 spd 90k
~~Tell me about cool MX3 stuff! I'm no genius when it comes to fixing cars, but when I had my new engine put in, I had a problem that sounds similar. Check the fuse box next to your battery and see if the fuel injector fuse is blown. Some wires might have gotten crossed somewhere and you blew a fuse.
I threw a new fuse in mine and it started first time. Give it a try.
------------------
Marc 93MX3RS

Make sure you have your fuel lines installed in the correct places. When I did my phenolic spacers, I had the exact same symptoms, and I had switched the lines.
------------------
David Coleman- Moderator
1993 Mazda MX-3 GS Special Edition
V6 engine info | KL FAQ | ECU reprogramming | K series Image cache | Probetalk Archive Search

Re: Won't start.
Since you had the valve cover off, did you check to see that the ground wire that connects to the distributor side of the cover is screwed in?
If not, the ignition system won't work.
How did you verify spark?
------------------
Jeff Abrams
jeff@mazdamaniac.com
SUPERCHARGED 2.5 liter 1993 Mazda MX-3 GS
http://www.mazdamaniac.com
Normally aspirated 1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata

It was, in fact, the fuel hoses. The longer one goes to the closest rail and the shorter one to the furthest one, contrary to logical thinking. Thanks all
Oh, by the way. An easy way to check if you've got spark w/o pulling plugs is stick a long screwdriver into the plugwire and hold the metal of the screwdriver to a ground while someone turns it over.
------------------
'92 Tropical Emerald Green GS 5 spd 90k
~~Tell me about cool MX3 stuff!
