az3 manual transmission

i have bought an imported az3 run it for 2 months with various problems being sorted along the way taking all my money, some not sorted yet, now the gearbox has died, large hole in the bell housing round the diff area and bearings all over the place, its a manual box, does this match with any other mazda gearboxes, does anyone know this, why has nobody heard of this car in england? please help i am lonely! :p

You dont say if your car is a 1.6, 4 cylinder or a 1.8 V6. The gearbox from a UK spec car, with the same engine (the 1.6 and 1.8 gearboxes are different) will drop straight in. I have a funny feeling the AZ3 is a 1.5, 4 cylinder engine (correct me if I'm wrong). If it is a 1.5 the gearbox from the UK spec 1.6 may or may not fit.

If it is a 1.6 or a 1.8 try www.partsgateway.co.uk for finding the parts you need.

its a 1.5 engine i am told its one on its own and i will not get one i hope that person is wrong, i can supply pictures if anyone thinks they can help

Mazda sold the 323 here with a 1.5L engine in quite large numbers. My guess is the gearbox from a 1.5L 323 should fit, as the MX-3 is loosely based on the 323.
