Alpine Video Bypass

Post by custom101 »

If anyone can help me in wiring a bypass for the Alpine screens please post specifics. If not can anyone tell me what color and where the brake wire is. I had a Panasonic head unit where I could just ground the wire out but with the alpine it doesn't seem to work, I get the "Video Off For Your Safety" screen. The model number I have is CVA-1005 if that helps. Thanks.

C'mon surely someone knows which wire is the brake wire on the harness. Anyone have an ECU pinout for 92 GS?

Nope, that's an older model (CVA-1000). The green wire was the e-brake wire. I finally bit the bullet and just took it to an installer, now while they wouldn't wire it they did show me which wires to tap into, apparantly the wire was right above the foot pedal. I tapped into it and wired my own SPST switch. I didn't wanna pay $30 for a box that will do it for me automatically (PAC-TR7).

Thanks anyway though.
