What Would You Recommend??

I have a choice of either 12" subs in a ported box or in a bandpass box. Which is better for crisp, loud, hard hitting bass sound?

Neither, For what you are wanting a sealed would be best. A ported is the next best. A band pass is tuned to certian freq's so it is less accurate in certian ones.

i would go ported if you want loud
i dunno what u mean about crisp but if u mean tight go with sealed<p>a sealed box gives u quick tight accurate bass while a ported box will give u loud boomy bass. a bp box is just loud with not very good accuracy and normally peaks at 2 frequencies

I have a ported box because I like the loud boomy bass. Sounds like you would want a sealed box.
