Air Conditioning

Hey guys, I live in Florida and my A/C gave out a while back and I'm trying to diagnose it. I installed the R-134a conversion kit and checked the pressure. It was at full pressure; but, it appears that there is some sort of clog somewhere in the system. I emptied the larger diameter pipe and found t...

Re: KL-ZE Won't Turn Over

Great God all mighty!!! I've heard the American KL-DE with no exhaust; but, this is just insane. With the higher compression ratio, the Japanese KL-ZE sounds lethal with no exhaust. It seriously sounds like a growling murderer.

Re: KL-ZE Won't Turn Over

Alright, just ran a jumper cable from the neg battery terminal to a bolt on the starter and it turned over. W00t!!! Still doesn't fire; but, it's probably for the same reason. Time to ground the crap out of the engine :P

KL-ZE Won't Turn Over

Hey everyone, long time no see... I just swapped a KL-ZE into my special edition and am currently having issues. When I turn the key, I can hear the starter click on; but, the engine doesn't turn over. I currently think/hope this is a wiring issue. I already swapped out the starter for another one t...

Re: Holly Crap my K8 is leaking/burning oil like crazy

I lucked out on it. I was just doing various web searches for K8 rebuild parts and came across an expired ebay auction from a few months back where a guy had 7 brand new K8 short blocks he got from an IRS auction sealed in factory packages for $400. I sent him an e-mail and he said he had one left; ...

Re: Holly Crap my K8 is leaking/burning oil like crazy

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted here. I am building/rebuilding a K8. hehe Why you ask? My K8 (189k miles) is burning oil at higher rpms and I'm still in the College of Engineering at USF (No major source of income...). I found a brand new Mazda K8 short block for $200 and I am going wit...

It is from a '93 Protege. The junkyard said that it is a good block. It doesn't have an ECU or wiring harness. At this point, I just want to get rid of it. As I said, needs new accessories, valve cover, clutch, and flywheel. I will sell it for $200 if someone will come pick it up. That way, if it's ...

[FS] BP Engine

I got this from a junkyard a couple months ago for $400 and ended up spending all my money on skydiving... It will need a new valve cover and accessories and belts and clutch. I am asking $400 since that is what I bought it for.

Returned. Fewww. I'm really glad I noticed it and didn't find out in a month... The engine doesn't look pretty, but, it should once I get it cleaned up and built. Just need to make sure it doesn't have anything major that can't be fixed. BP with a turbo setup, here I come. Slowly but surely :)

Edit: 500 posts woohoo.

Is this broken bolt hole for the tranny mount? This is a Protege tranny. Need answer as soon as possible. Thank you.

Ya, if you recently replaced the wires you shouldn't have to worry about that. It is probably the HEI.

If a different HEI doesn't fix it, get new plug wires next. Bad plug wires have given me those exact symptoms in the past.

It's not the AFR that is causing this.

I very much doubt that it is the ECU since it is periodic. When the ECU fries, it is usually spontaneous and once it's gone, it's gone. Make sure you have the HEI very well grounded. That will probably fix your problem; if not, go ahead and get the blaster coil. The only other thing to check are the...
