replace the plugs and wires, fuel filter.. also do a throttle body service and injector flush. when you remove the plugs check for any burn spots around the plugs. try those first.

to get to the heater core. you must remove the dash. i dont really have experience on the mx3 however i've removed many dash on jeeps to replace blend air doors. inside the blend air doors is the heater core.
thats jsut my experience. hope that helps. i believe you gotta drop the steering wheel.

get a higher voltage amp and about 600 cca. that should it for you.
