inside the distributor i believe. check your wiring to your distributor, the online manual has the diagram for the disty. lots of people including me have had alot of bad distributors.

Re: Hesitation/Stumbling problem with B6 SOHC
do you have a vacuum gauge to check how much your making? usually around 16inches at idle throttle closed is good. because if theres a leak its letting unmetered air in screwing up the mixture. have your checked your rubber intake hose for cracks? if all else fails you could go to a dealer if you ha...

Re: engine trouble
bad distributor. the cam sensor is inside the disty, lots of people have that problem. you can do a mod called HEI. you can search around and see if you want to do this if not a new disty is most likely the cause. also check your wiring do your distributor plugs just to make sure its not the circuit...

if you put the car in reverse and the clutch out and doesnt stall then you could have a bad throwout bearing. mine did that before i couldnt drive it anymore. can you drive your car in gear or does it not engage and allow you to change? i mean either a bad bearing or broken fingers not too sure.

Re: Problem with temp sensor and battery?
ya someone else has a post in the 4cyl section with the same problem i think. the alt/waterpump belt going out. usually if the charge light and overheating at the same time. easy check. have you done a compression test on the motor? check for leaks, and check to see if you have air in your system.

Re: New battery, car won't crank without a boost
ya with a new battery and it barely cranks your dropping alot of voltage somewhere to your starter. most likely its your battery cables like tunes said. gotta get that juice to the starter haha. you can do tests on your bat cables if you have a DVOM(digital volt ohm meter) or just a voltmeter. check...

Re: Comprehensive headgasket replacement guide?
haha ya your alternator was charging your battery. with mine it was basically shredded off because the tension on the belt was wrong and slid on the pulley grooves wrong and just burnt it up. remember to get the belt tension correct, too tight and you put stress on your bearings of the alternator. t...

you can do anything if you have the money. just have to go custom work, and who cares if the mx3 isnt the fastest out there. theres always gonna be someone faster then you. the mx3 is a great car, very rare where i am and sticks out compared to other cars and its all stock. mx3's rock

Re: Comprehensive headgasket replacement guide?
thats weird because if its the DOHC version the water pump and alternator run off of the same belt. so no w/p belt no alt belt. but yes if your waterpump was not running and not circulating coolant your car will overheat. haha
