Here's another positive for Jarid. He and I swapped numerous PMs in preparation for his sale of an air bag and he was very helpful. When the bag arrived, it came on time and exactly as described.

as far as I was trained on air bar replacement... first you replace sensors, seat belts usually get replaced too, make sure your clock spring isnt fried cause it usually is and you have to get air bag with new one.

Thanks for the heads-up on the clock spring. How do you test the clock spring on ...

I handle airbag replacement at work all the time.... on Mazda, the crash sensor near the bumper is a reuseable part. If it's not externally damaged, it should continue to work properly. Since it's illegal (in the US) to ins. companies to put used airbags into a customer's car, a salvage yard would ...

Don't know about that sensing device. Too lazy to read that section of my manual right now. Replacement airbags from a wrecker will run ya anywhere from $200 - $1000+ USD for a set. Best bet is to go to http://www.car-part.com and enter your vehicle info to see a listing. Most listings will even ...

Any experience with used air bags?

My daughgter was in a front-end collision in her MX-3 (1994) and both air bags deployed as a result. I'd like to replace the air bags and put the car back on the road but the expense of replacing the bags is so much that I'm not sure that it's worth it.

Does anyone have any experience with buying ...

The only question i guess is WHY did it blow...

Great to see its back on the road!

I would not be surprised if the main fuse blew when the car was involved in a traffic accident. The air bags deployed, which might have tripped the fuse. In any event, it's not yet back on the road. Replacing the ...

The main fuse was the problem. It's not quite as simple as replacing any of the other fuses because it's bolted to the fuse box but 10 minutes is all it took to give life to my daughter's car.

Thanks especially to Grants for pointing me in the direction of the fuse box under the hood. I'd have ...

Check the fuses in the engine bay - theres one called main.

Theres a diagram here if that helps... page 47 shows the start system.

Let us know if we can add to this.

Thanks. I will check this out later today and get back to you all with ...

Hi there 94dad,
You may be looking into it all a bit deeply... theres really not much that will disable the starting system. When you say
I got no current when I turned the key to "on."
do you mean no lights on the dash - just nothing at all - or that it won't crank? `

When I turn the key, I get ...

Starting system problem - '94 MX3

I am working on my daughter's '94 MX3, which has been in storage for about a year. Today, after I installed a new battery I got no current when I turned the key to "on." The Chilton's book describes an anti-theft system that is connected to the radio, which appears to be capable of disabling the ...
