check your PCV valve.. 10 bucks CDN and worked for me!

well hopefully after this afternoon she won't smoke.. i've pretty much replaced everything cept for the piston rings.. and obviously im hopeing to find no holes haha

well I just replaced my PCV valve and it cost be 9.98CDN at Canadian Tire.. it's cheap.. and it's little.. but can cause SERIOUS problems.. especially when it's cold out.. it really messes with your crankcase

I would definately check out your PCV valve... they are like 10 bucks and it can ewasily give you an idle problem!! Sometimes it's the little things.. good luck

I've never heard or anyone trying different rings before.. possibly worth a shot though, but I'd watch out because obviously mm's can be costly!! Been there done that.

If it was rings it would smoke ALL the time... not just at cold start and high RPM's.. I don't have a clue what else it would be other than the valve seals.. I'm going to try to switch to 10w-30 for a little, see how much that changes things, it'll be a little thicker so it should cut down on consum...

yeah, you could possibly just have a bad gasket at the headers or something which would allow it to come in through the vents for heat, A/C whatever.. heat in my case because I'm canadian and balls it's cold here

I had the exact same problem and it my the fuse in the engine bay!

I need to change my piston rings.. never done that before, can anyone give me a site that gives good solid and thorogh instructions? Pretty shitty that the rings need to be replaced, other than the rings the engine is great! Which is the only reason I'm gonna do the rings instead of swap in another ...

hey everyone, I replaced the valve seals in my 16valve DOHC 1.6l mx3 engine, and it SHOULD have stopped the smoking at high rpm's and at cold engine startup.. but it didn't.. anyone else have anymore suggestions?

I've looked everywhere on this site before I posted this, is there anyone on here that would be able to post good installation instructions, thanks guys. craig p.s. they seem pretty think, and im not sure how these go on.. do they go over the stock ones or are they free standing? I got them off ebay...
