When I bought my car the front 2 were broke (idiot I bought it from drove around on the one broken spring too long til the other side broke) and while stripping my scrap car I took off a front tire and there it was... a broken front spring. Are they hard to install and do you have to shave your door handles with these kits, b/c I want power locks (hate having to remind passengers to lift handle) but just painted my car so don't want to shave the door handles.

If I read it correctly and understood it right they are planning on making a set and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be charging $1000. Check it out.

I never realized this was such a common thing. Thought I was the one and only. Hope that tighting of the screws works. Is it mainly the drivers side and manual windows or does it happen to the passenger side too and on power windows.
