will the 7 nipple disty cap from corksport bolt on the k8 distributor? is the external coil just a suggested mod for when ur stock coil fails? or is it an actual performance upgrade?

i was searchin these forums and i saw on the second page ppl talkin about vris where it kicks in at a certain rpm and gives more power like the honda vtec. is there anyway to modify this to make it work sooner or give more power and/or torque and get me off the line faster?
