I think it will fit if you swap the bell housing - they are basically the same tranny with same internals but different bell housing i think. I dont know if the torque converter has to be swapped or not.

Test your blower and make sure its gone before ripping it out - lots of people have had problems with the switch itself and not the blower.

If you are talking about the second picture on G-027 - no its not pointing to the rotor. Its the high voltage post that sticks out into the distributor cap. Once you take the cap out you will see that post (with a small metal hat) sticking out above all else.

If you replace it with anything other than mx3 part - especially cars with different size fuel tanks - the fuel level indication "might" be wrong. I looked at a protege sender and it looked very similar to the one in my RS - i dont think there is any difference between RS and GS for this p...

If you have access to another good running mx-3 or even junkyard parts - test the sensors first - like TPS, VAF, CPS etc and definitely try a new distributor...

First - check fluid level and condition. Under the hood - in the diagnostics box jump pins GND & TAT - if there are any fault codes stored in the transmission computer the "Hold" light in the dash will flash to indicate the code. Most electrical faults will throw a code. Also try reset...

A cracked cap can definitely affect a lot of things - so replace it and the rotors, wires and plugs if they havent been changed in a while.
